Peninsula Boxing coaching team consists of:

MARCOS AMADO

Marcos began coaching in 2005, he has coached well in excess of 250 fights with over 25 fighters.  He has coached numerous Victorian and Australian champions, one particular fighter representing Australia at Pune, India Youth Commonwealth games winning a Bronze medal.

He has clocked up many frequent flyer miles travelling interstate to make bouts happen. For the past 7 years he has taken representatives from the gym to the annual National Championship in various states along with a team of 3 to the Masters Games in Oct 2012.

In 2013/14 Marcos was one of the assistant coaches for the Victorian state team at the Australian championships in South Australia.

Marcos’s passion is the gym and all aspects of Boxing from weight loss, to personal training, group fitness to competitive Boxing Amateur and Professional.

He is currently training himself as a pro-fighter and has a record of 3-1.

Marcos is the owner and proprietor Peninsula Boxing gym, his pride and passion makes the gym a great place to train for both fitness and competitive boxing.

 

WAYNE ASHDOWN

Wayne commenced boxing at 17 years of age at the Victorian Railways Gymnasium in the late 1960’s. He participated in 5 amateur boxing bouts over a five year period.

He re-commenced active involvement in the sport in 2001, training with Scott Brouwer. (A Mornington Peninsula local who fought internationally).

This led to his current involvement in professional boxing as a judge and referee.

Wayne has throughout the years maintained a high level of personal fitness and in 2012 competed in the Australian Masters tournament in South Australia.

Wayne is an active member of the coaching crew at Peninsula Boxing running group classes on Monday and Friday evenings.
