MARCOS AMADO – Head Coach

Marcos began coaching athletes at a local level in 2005, he has coached well in excess of 400 fights with over 40 fighters throughout this time.

For the past 8 years Marcos has been the Head Coach of Victoria and in 2019 took up the additional role of Boxing Australia Regional futures coach.  In 2018, Coach Marcos was selected as assistant coach for the Australian team representing at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.  He has also represented Australia to much success in various countries along the journey such as Russia, USA, China, Philippines, Tahiti, New Caledonia, New Zealand to name a few.  Marcos himself competed as both amateur and as a professional, he continues to train and competes as a masters boxer.

Marcos is the owner and proprietor Peninsula Boxing gym, his pride and passion makes the gym a great place to train for both fitness and competitive boxing.

STEFANIE TILLEY – Instructor & Personal Trainer

Stef started training at Peninsula Boxing in 2012 attending the cardio boxing classes and fell in love with the sport of boxing.

Progressed to doing group PT’s which moved onto pads one on one and training with the competitive boxers.  Stef made the leap to competitive boxing and in 2016 had her first fight and has had 5 fights since.

She has successfully completed a certificate 3 and 4 in fitness course.  Devoted mother to Skye who quite often is found in tow helping keep mum on her toes.  With great people skills Stef loves taking PT’s, small groups and classes.

WAYNE ASHDOWN – Instructor

Wayne commenced boxing at 17 years of age at the Victorian Railways Gymnasium in the late 1960’s. He participated in 5 amateur boxing bouts over a five year period. He re-commenced active involvement in the sport in 2001, which led to his current involvement in professional boxing as a judge and referee. Wayne has throughout the years maintained a high level of personal fitness and in 2012 competed in the Australian Masters tournament in South Australia. Wayne is an active member of the coaching crew at Peninsula Boxing running group class on Monday evenings.  He specialises in group training focuses on technique and general fitness.
